Hudec Exhibition was open from 14th  to 29th of July 2008. The opening of the exhibition on the Day of Chinese Cultural Heritage was a very successful event with more than 100 of visitors.

The exhibiton was organized by the Consulate General of the Republic of Hungary in Shanghai, together with the Shanghai Urban Planning Administration Bureau, the Shanghai Urban Construction Archives and the College of Architecture and Urban Planning of Tongji University.

On the 29th of May 2008 the commune of Banskej Bystrica organized a Hudec exhibition and conference called “Slovenskou Rukou – With Slovak Hand” in the National Scientific Library. There were lectures about his works, the cultural and economical context of his age in Shanghai and the actual condition of his buildings.

The issue of his nationality has been discussed since he was born in Banska Bystrica (in those days in the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy) but later in his life he had Czechoslovakian, Hungarian and even American citizenship.

On hudecproject.com website you can find information about the documentary film, the book, the architectural website and the archival documents recently found in the heritage. The archival documents reveal new aspects of Hudec life and career. Our goal is to publicize them in Hungarian and also in English to provide information for further research.
